Did you run the Media 100 hardware test application? This at least should give a hint about what´s wrong there.

It sounds like your system does not recognize its board. If you run the Media 100 hardware test app you most likely will not see the board. Try to reseat the M100 board, maybe it got unseated during moving the system.
If the board is placed correctly in your system, you also could try to reinstall the Media 100 software (you can download it from the website). I am not sure why this should have happened, but if the Media 100 extension is not correctly installed on your system you would get this message also.

I am not sure if you do have a chance of finding manuals for your version. But one thing you could do is to download the manuals for V11 from Media100.com (under Support->Downloads->V11), and have a look of what in the manual does already apply for 2.6.

Regarding your slideshow: have a look at your “Tools” menu if there already is a “Apply Transition to Range” command. If yes, this should help you with your transitions.

Seems like Chris has removed his post… V12.7.1 of Producer does support HDV over FireWire.

[Ton Offerman] “Does anybody know about Media 100HD & JvcPro Hdv 720p/50 “

720p50 and 720p59.94 are supported via FireWire. I am not 100% sure that the JVC stuff is supported, since there are so many different (incompatible) HDV standards are out there, but I think the JVC 720p50 is nothing too fancy and should work. If you have a camera/deck, give it a try with the Producer trial version and report back if it works 😉

Media 100 Producer (and the hardware systems) can acquire HDV via FireWire. The incoming HDV signal gets transferred in realtime (or via the “deferred” mode on older/slower systems) into a codec of your choice for editing.

Not sure if there is anything on the iFinish platform as the Media 100 Hardware test that is available for the Mac-based Media 100 i systems, but I would guess that there should be something similar. Try looking in your iFinish folder for a hardware test, and if there is one, run it. I think if you haven´t changed anything on your system lately it could be a hardware failure.

[Andrew Mehta] “What is deferred HDV btw? “

Deferred HDV acquire was introduced for older Macs and Laptops, that can not transcode the incoming HDV streams in realtime. So instead of transcoding while acquiring it acquires the HDV streams first and converts them then into your codec of choice for editing.

Save your custom Transition into YourHardDrive->Library->Application Support->Media 100, and there in the correct folder (Effects/Titles/Transition).
