    Hi Kieran
mostly I still use media 100i lossless codec. Sometimes DVCPRO 50.
What puzzles me is that I don’t have this problem at all in 8.2.2 with RED3, only in Producer and HDx with RED 4.

I too have this problem (RED 4.1). Since a few versions back a new text would not update in the comp window or on the monitor unless you hit the update button. There used to be an auto-update button somewhere on the text window (in addition to the “auto-update monitor” in the preview menu). Would be very nice to have it back!

Right. Configuration Nr. 2 works with embedded audio, which means that the EX1 is doing the downconversion and you enter the media 100 via SD-SDI.

On the other configurations you have to find your own way to get your analog signal from the EX1 into your media 100.

Yes, I have the HDx version.

I don’t think that the picture gets degraded through the SDI transfer.

I can only acquire a few seconds of HD because my drives are too slow, working in SD only up to now, but seeing the huge difference of the HD-1080i quality I’ll get some fast RAIDs soon.

btw there is also a possibility to get the HD signal of the EX1 out to a HD-TV via the enclosed component cable. This component exit can also be changed in the menu to be either SD or HD.

Media 100 does not recognize my EX1 via firewire at all. (It recognizes an old TRV-900 via firewire).

    Michael and Floh:

Normally I work with DVCPRO 50, which for SD I’m very happy with. I tried the Z1 and then the XDCAM HD 330, which downconverted to SD were not as good as DVCPRO 50, and now, reading all the hype about the EX1, I was hoping to use this camera as B-roll. But if I can’t find a decent workflow with my HDx board I might have to upgrade to Kona or give somebody a good EX1-deal on e-bay. But I’m still hoping for a solution from media 100. We’ll soon know…

Same here. Should get my EX1 this month. Shall try to downconvert to M100 via HD-SDI and I hope that audio and TC make it through this process. But direct import would be great.

They were scheduled for the end of November here in Switzerland but I just got the message that they are postponed to January. This might be the date for the rest of the world too because there are no PAL or NTSC models necessary anymore.

Probably a corrupt media file, the same one in all the crash programs. Try to delete it in the finder before opening the program.
