Have you tried exporting it as an independent clip from FCP and converting it in Quicktime? or convert it through compressor in a different codec? At least then you will have some comparisons.
I m trying to compress a 7min 30 sec video for web, which is the best codec to get it as small as possible and still retain some quality?

    Thanks Rafael,
    if I do the following:
    PAL 720p25 > DVCPRO 50 NTSC (Quicktime)
Import DVCPRO 50 NTSC into DVD Studio Pro (Preset to NTSC project)
    Burn DVD
Will DVD studio pro not convert the footage to an NTSC Mpeg2?

Hi, I have a similar situation but I managed to use an Apple 30″ HD monitor connected to my mac book pro as a second monitor and it was brilliant. If there are other options out there I would like to hear about them.

When I say full, I mean there is about 14Gb available space, could it be the RAM? And why is it only when I step into an image file?

I am running a MacBook Pro with 2 Gigs RAM, I have 2 external Lacie 500Gig drives and one of them is full. I have never trashed my prefs. I am working with 720PN HD footage.
