    Hi,

keep getting lines on my video and i’m thinking why it is.

    My process is this:
    1) capture DV and bringinto FCP
    2) Edit, export – 16:9, progressive, best, 25fps,
    3)compress using sorenson squeeze – ON2 VP6 codec 2 pass+ use de-interlace filter

but i still get lines – now if i create a AVI in premier and export then it seems to be fine…but a MOV out of fcp – i seem to get lines.

fields for DV – am i right in saying that DV PAL is lower?..but the content is going on the web…all i do know is that it should b progressive.

anyone has any idea why i’d be really grateful
    best

Have you tried exporting it as an independent clip from FCP and converting it in Quicktime? or convert it through compressor in a different codec? At least then you will have some comparisons.
I m trying to compress a 7min 30 sec video for web, which is the best codec to get it as small as possible and still retain some quality?

    Ciao,

Try exporting using broadband high for quicktime. This works well for me in NTSC.
