Let me clarify something. I own a 7d, which can record 1280 x 720 (HD): 60p (59.94). I understand the concept you mentioned. My question was refered to this other matter. I did the math: if canon 7d (cropping to 720p “reducing size”) delivers 60p 59.94… why not the bmcc (cropping from 2.5 k to 1080p) can’t deliver 60p (59.94) ? So the next step is conforming to 23.98 time base, and then you will get SlowMo….exactly as the 7D. Sounds reasonable.
In BMPC4K tech specs, blackmagic team show “1920 x 1080i 59.94”. that’s what I understood. So why they don’t explain that the camera can’t record 59.94i to the SSd? When they say: 1080i 59.94i I understand is like the 7d. Sacrifying the 2.5 format to 1080i. Is real sad to hear that the camera never (not even firmware) record 59.94i. Is this correct? Are you realy sure? or I’m confusing something?

finaly It is very important to me to know if the BMPC4k’s maximun recording frame rate is 30p like the Original BMCC. So I can despite this as a plus to consider and maybe stick to the original.

John I red in tech specs the following:

Frame Rates

3840 x 2160p23.98,

1920 x 1080p25,
1920 x 1080p29.97,

1920 x 1080i59.94.

I thought the 4K didn’t record at 60 fps but some friend show me this chart and Abel cine shows the same. Did you have a different info at he NY event?

And in other hands maybe I’m confusing my undestanding about the adapter, since I’m not a native english speaker, I ment something different. I would like to use my EF glases (nikon and canon) with the BMCC MTF mount. Is there an adapter for this? maybe is EF to MTF mount is the way to write it down?

I don’t need 4k. Actually what I need is 60 fps and the super 35 sensor ‘cos I have varius canon and nikon lenses. I don’t know if I can have have a mtf to canon adapter, since I prefer the mtf mount to have the choice of pl lenses.

Hi john, thanks for the response. Do you think is a wise choice to buy the bmcc despite the promise of global shutter, s35 sensor and 60 fps of the 4k? The thing is I’m going to NY next week and I’m diying to buy the camera. Something tells me that compressed raw and the downgrade of the DR will change a lot the quality of the camera. Think to wait six months or a year for the 4k seens an eternity.

Dear Marco, Ive been reading all your post/blog and guys’s comments here.

My questions or my demons are about choosing the MFT mount or EF and also if is better to wait for the Production 4K (but for how long??). I have a nice collection of nikon lenses and a 10-22 canon. But also my work is mostly tv commercials, and shortfilms. That’s been said, my concern is with tv commercials and Shorts MFT is a + for PL lenses like ultraprime. No to mention the most need it 60 fps slowmotion, (almost the 70% of our commercial have slow motions) wich the BMCC can’t deliver. So I don’t know what to do. If I just wait for the BMP4k (60 fps + Global S) but I’m afraid of the Raw/prores compresion and 12 stops and some how worst low light Vs the original BMCC. I going to NY this month and I lossing my mind with the up coming oportunity to have the BMCC at B&H, wondering if I stick to the BMCC, or to die wating another year for the 4K to be ship. I don’t know how bad is the rolling shutter in the BMCC so I quite lost here.

can you give me a hand or some light at the end of the tunnel?

Hi peter, why the titan vs 690?

As I red, 690 has more cuda core and two gpus. Davinci reads this card like two gpus… what do you think?

Also, any one has tested the heat in a Mac pro with those two cards? any modifications? and using this popular external 500 Watts power supply to feed it. is this enough?

Thx Andrew. final question, whats the difference between the Flashed 580 vs the Pc estandard in terms of performance? I understand that the main diference is to be bootable in mac but and red something about the full advantage of the x16 bandwidth..

So make me think is important to go with the flashed card from mcvids?

So if I buy a PC 690 card the deal is done in 1.8.3 ? (if power issues has been resolved) Do I need something else to make it work in the mac? booting issues I heard are done having a second mac card like 120gt is that correct?
or I’m loss?
