    I would just take a slug, put it on the top most layer, and then simply set the opacity to go from transparent to full black at what ever rate of time you wish. Instant master fade to black.

    Rafael, I happened to take one of my overlays and converted to Pro Res 4444 with Mpeg Streamclip, thnking just as you did, however, I couldn’t get the Alpha channel to work. Even when I changed it to ‘straight’ in the browser. Is it because I used Streamclip to transcode? Should I have used Compressor? I’ve read somewhere that Pro Res 4444 is only for the creation & exporting of clips with an Alpha channel. I’m not sure of the intricies of that codec.

    Could be your graphic is either ‘indexed’ or still in CMYK. Make sure it’s RGB before you save it out.

    Jeremy, I believe that has yet to be determined, so, that’s a very good point. I’m guessing that capture cards will be in the picture because of the vast array of formats we still have kicking around here.
