Not so much.
Select the layer and go int the top menu layer>Pre-compose. Or Command+shift+c, then change the settings of that comp to be smaller and export that out.
Or duplicate the comp you animated things in, re-size that in its composition settings and poke out the eyes of everything you don’t need before exporting?

You can do that. Or precompose and re-size to 200×200. Masking has little impact on frame size on export.

IF you were to export your frames as cropped PNGs as the size of the content changed so would the size of the image so some frames would be maybe 500*500, but some would be 600*300 or however that goes. the result of that is that when you view them or use them as a sequence their reference points would all be skewed and you would get some funky placement issues with each frame being out of alignment with where it should be.

For sure, you can make text that scrolls pretty simply by using keyframes or just use a script on the position like:
[value,time]
then tweak to taste.
But really you can have keyframes for under a minute. Just set one at the start, one at the end, type up the text and have a good day.

Are you sure “nothing” is happening? Or that you don’t have num-lock on?
It might be “loading project” before it starts to render and is just taking it’s sweet time.
Alternatively you might want to just try to RAM preview using the menu commands and see if there isn’t a more systemic problem with your ram preview function.

This part of the Adobe help file might help you out: https://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/AfterEffects/8.0/help.html?content=WS064964FC-424C-4e5a-A5C3-2160B3DFBCA4.html

The best method would be instead to get some footage of real sand of an advanced particle simulation from a stock site. The eddies and curls of particles in wind are best done with physics simulations.
Or another plugin that fakes it well is trapcode particular. It has more fine control over wind simulations.
Or try CC Particle world. Use tiny particles, Some turbulent displacement to swoosh them around, and add wiggle scripts in there to try to randomize the motion more?

January 25, 2012 at 2:20 am in reply to: How to make a layer 3d on the current position?I would recommend making use of the rulers and guides on this one. Crack open the ruler and drag out some guides from the rulers at top and bottom to help you know where you want the piece to end up.
Other options are to make use of parenting the new object to one you have already positioned and setting all of it’s position and rotation to 0,0,0, and that will align it smack on the object already out there in 3d pace and you’ll have less distance to move it.
Also if you are finding dragging things around takes a long time hold shift to go further faster.
Hope that helps.

For y our visual issue, use a blending mode to remove the black. Try “Add” or something like that and mess with the opacity.
As for your audio issue, I recommend never working with audio inside AAe if you can help it. It just does not have the tool set for good audio work.

Perhaps you should dumb down the working resolution to 1/2 or 1/3rd? It’s a RAM problem for sure, Also maybe only have the important things soloed when you’re working.
I use the Command and scrub method when syncing audio because waiting on previews can be a whack of no fun.
