Yeah, I know about the Scriptboy, but my clients were asking for something simpler.

I also found something called the Scriptview which is an on-camera TC display, but can’t seem to find anything out about it. (I sent them an email).

And then I also found the Scriptlinc Jr., which looks interesting.

You can’t do color grading with a monitor plugged into a mac. You need an i/o card/device between the mac and the monitor for accurate display.

How old is the camera? Have you been overblowing it? I notice that guys tend to crank the contrast all the way up and after a while it destroys the viewfinders detail by over cranking it. I keep mine set fairly low and it still is sharp as a tack after 4 years. Same with my 20 year old BetaCam.

FCP doesn’t strip the CC off my tapes. In fact, I send out a Beta to my Caption guy. He gives me a dub with CC on. I digitize that back into FCP and strip in the 1st line over my original edit timeline to keep the quality 1st generation, then re-output. Works like a champ.

Rathbone is excellent. I had them rebuild my older AB ProPacs (The sealed ones) They cut open the cases are rebuild the cells. The rebuilts were Better than the original ABs!!!

The chargers for the Batteries4Broadcast are very reasonable. Check out the batteries4broadcast.com website for prices. I’m not associated with them, just a happy end user.

I’ve got the biggest AM4010’s. Not sure about weight compared to latest AB’s, but they are way lighter than the older AB full-size bricks. The B4B AM4010’s weight about 2.5 lbs each, which is really nice.

I’ve been using batteries from Batteries4Broadcast. They have been superb. Great power, excellent quality and their customer service is tops. I originally bought 2 to try out. I now have 8, couldn’t recommend them more.

No HD-SDI to Firewire converters that I have seen. What about the AJA Ki?
