Just tried the Free Run option, no dice. I think I have it narrowed down to the FCP as if I use the Audio tool window and lower the master output, the noise lowers, but does not go away. It’s not on my tracks as they are clean. I’m going to try trashing preferences next.

I just started getting this noise. I’ve trouble-shot the Flying cow and it’s fine with other sources. So, I’m narrowing it down to the Kona or FCP.
Specs of the current project are: DVCProHD 720p/60 timeline. 48KHz, 16bit depth audio. What do you mean by “reference set to”? I’m feeding a BB generator into the Kona ref in.

Plus, if you export as a reference file, then you can continue to edit in FCP while compressor works in the background.

Some thing to check. Did you render it in the timeline? Are you resizing it? And you don’t need 300dpi, 72dpi will do.

Sorry, no disrespect on your experience. I think I understand. IF you dial the camera down to 3000k then you are correct, it will look cooler. The reason is, the physical light is at 3200 and the camera is now 3000k, so the light will be higher, thus bluer.
There are other options like getting a set of Warm cards.

OK, this is weird. I just opened up another project (720p/30 footage in a 720p/60 timeline) and the video doesn’t get digital when a CC filter is applied. Just the 720p/60 footage in the 720p/60 timeline. Is it that it’s 60 fps footage requires more machine to playback cleanly?
And yes, after rendering, it all looks fine.

My system’s plenty fast enough and they playback fine, but they are extremely digital looking (un-rendered) It seems like I remember, they didn’t have this bad a digital look to them when the the CC filter was added. It could just be me I guess.

You could always doctor it up as an effect. Go B&W or add a diffusion plug-in.
