    If the mic is the one that comes with the wireless then it has a molded on connector. Cut the cable above the wear point, through away the old connector and reterminate with a 3.5mm TRS with a locking collar.

    The positive wire gets connected to the shorter (tip) of the two solder tabs and the shield/ground gets connected to the sleeve arm with the bendable clamp fingers. No connection to the ring tab is required.

    Keep in mind that the MKE 600 can run on it’s internal batteries while any of the MKH series require 48v phantom power which is not available from DSLRs. You would need an external unit to supply the 48v phantom to power an MKH series mic or any other mic that does not have internal batteries.

  • The Sennheiser A block covers 518-554MHz, the B block covers 630-662MHz & the G block covers 566-608MHz. Based on the Sennheiser chart I would stay away from the A block. The B & G blocks are your best choices. Even then there are no guarantees. You’ll have to scan the frequencys to find a clear channel.

  • Regardless of which way you go make sure you speak to the house mixer and find out if you’ll be getting a mic or line level feed from the board. If you end up with the Sennheiser G2 and you’re getting a line level feed (most likely) you’ll need an input cable wired for an unbalanced line level into the transmitter. A line feed into the transmitter requires the audio signal to be connected to the ring of the 3.5mm TRS connector.

    No, guage has no bearing on low voltage audio feeds on much longer runs than you’re talking about.

    Contact https://www.markertek.com for their premade Canare Star Quad cables with Neutrik connectors. Their part numbers run from SC1.5xxj to SC100xxj, the number indicates the length.

    You’ll find the Sennheiser to sound much better than the Lectro 100. The Sennheisers offer a frequency scan function that lets you search for clear frequencys within the blocks. I don’t know if the Lectro 100 offers that function.

    The Senn “A” block covers 516Mhz to 558Mhz and the “B” block covers 626Mhz to 668Mhz. There is also the “G” block that covers 566Mhz to 608Mhz. Depending where you are and what RF is in the air any of those blocks will work….or not.
