Open up any app and try to spread the window across two screens.
    This is under Mavericks.
We ran into this with Adobe products then VLC.
You will also notice that where your mouse is active there is a menu at the top.
The days of one menu on one screen is gone.

    MP 5, 1 w/Quadro FX 4800
    Running 10.9.4.
    No problems with dual displays.

Still not a big fan of display changes.
Cant span a window across my Dual 30s 😛

  • Just like to add that the CUBIX XPANDER does not work with any Thunderbolt enclosure to date.

Spoke to soon with the Nitris DX.

It was fine when I had it at the start which was 10.9.2.

Then came 10.9.3 which broke it somewhat.

Then installed 10.9.4 and felt it was fine with the odd errors here and there that would go away after a few tries of running app.

After a week of that, the app would not open due to the errors.

Back to basics and took another nMP brand spanking new with 10.9.

So far running Nitris DX again with Beta/XDCAM decks as well as AMA for MXF/RED files.

Ill keep it this way for a week and see if it breaks again.

I do this on a Mac Pro.
Due to issues with Resolve, I have a 10.9.2 drive, 10.9.4 and 10.7.x for legacy Final Cut.
    Works like a charm.

  • I would like to add that I failed at getting a Mac Pro 2012 setup going with Resolve 10. Specs are:
    Mac Pro 2.66/6-Core/32GB RAM/10.9.3
    – Quadro 4000 GUI
    – CUBIX 16X host card
    – BMD DeckLink Extreme
    – ATTO R680 (GRAID eS Pro 12TB)

    CUBIX GPU -XPANDER
    – Quadro 4000
    – Quadro 4000
    – Quadro 4000
    – RED ROCKET

    Resolve 10.1.5

Created a 4K Ultra HD config setup.

I am getting about 21fps (no extra nodes) with RED ROCKET on and 19.5fps without.
Use Display GPU For Compute off.

This was my last kick at the can for the Mac Pro at work.
They have been replaced by the new Mac Pro’s and it looks like the CUBIX is not supported in Resolve 11 (I could be wrong).

Finally got a Thunderbolt 2 unit to test.
Sonnet Echo Express III-R (rack version)to be exact.
Avid HBA card works flawlessly with Avid MC 7.x.
RED ROCKET works and BMD DeckLink HD as well as ATTO R680.
What doesnt work is any CUBIX or PCI Expander 🙁
