To date I am still having way too many issues with Premiere to consider it for any major work.
When I first started using it my wants/needs were few and it served me well.
It started on a Mac then ended on my PC with the Perception PVR.
Now revisiting it in full capacity has had me hating it day by day.
Damn you Apple and Avid for ruining a once simple mind (mine of course)!

I was too deep into After Effects and had a decent stint in Fusion (packaged with Maya back in the day) to get into Shake.

I was about to take a plunge before it was purchased by Apple.

When it was swallowed I figured to wait till they get it all in a package with FCP…..the rest is history.

I am still on Resolve 11 and would like know if Remote vs CT is still a debate with Resolve 12.
Ive been updating via XML from a Premiere project for a few times now and redoing all the changes without using any of the options above.
I didnt bother to find a solution since I am just learning to deal with this kind of workflow (Premiere XML/Resolve round-trip) and I was having so much fun…at first.
Any other magical tools that will help speed this process up?
Can I turn a Local grade into a Master?
Is there any pitfalls to that?
Any tips is welcome 🙂

I too am curious about this.

Working with an editor on Premiere and having to update rough cuts a few times got me to revisit each clip for grading.

Sure its great since Im getting faster at it but after awhile its tedious specially on a feature length project.

I have this issue with current QT h264 proxies rendered from REDCINE-X Pro.
Originally RED files with WAV attached via TC sync.
The editor swears the audio was intact during import and rough cut but every time we open/share a project audio clips look blank and missing at times.
Its all over the place wit this issues and we cant pinpoint it.
The odd part is when we exported to AAF the files are viewable/audible in Pro Tools.
Weird stuff from Premiere Pro CC 2014.

I only have one drive with the Proxies and it still gives me fits every time I open up the project.

In the past the Director/Editor and I were sharing files by moving just the PPr project. The folder structure was the same except for the root drive volume name.
Now I had to kill one of my RAIDs and rename it as same name as his drive just to avoid that stupid Relink window.
HOnestly Im not trying to start any sh*t here but why cant Premiere act like After Effects/FCPX/Maya/Resolve and pretty well most apps where it reads sub-root and down.
For some reason Premiere just wants an exact volume path.
Again this is CC 2014.
I dont have the patience for updating and never do during critical times.

For those that want to know.
I merged all the AAFs from Premiere using Import Session Data.
Check on Pro Tools:
Match Tracks
Import – Overlay new on existing playlists (this you can select after initial import).
Works like a charm.

As I check in this post time to time the bugs in Premiere CC 2014 is starting to get to me.
Im glad Im not in it as much as the editor but I cant fathom editing another feature in this version.
Keep in mind these bugs do have other culprits in hand such as Resolve and REDCINE-X.
I know for a fact that I didnt run into any round-trip issues with FCPX/Avid when it comes to big projects.

Just ran into an AAF issue from Premiere and found your post.

For me Im stuck a Export level.

Keeps stalling at “Breaking out to mono …” here:(

Cant even continue to Pro Tools 😛
