Agreed this was all manual.
You can also edit the video frame to accommodate the lines.
Just scale the video up and fake track it to avoid sloppy moves.

Use a lossless codec as Walter stated.
Then conform using ProRes4444 and see what happens.
I assume the ProRes is what the client requested.

A stupid workaround would be to render in static frames to find out if the issue persists.
Maybe the mixed codecs are not playing nice with the final framerate/codec?
Walter’s suggestion is always the first step when dealing with multi-codec/framerate sources.

Usually the agency has the call on this.
Might need to sit down with the photographer and discuss before hiring.
According to a colleague (pro photographer), the agency contract dictates all terms and condition for both end user and photographer.

You don’t need to remove but that works too.
You can always relink to the new folder with your supposed masters.

As long as the files are exactly named and the same length you could just treat the Proxy as Original source.
I’ve had to deal with this a few times in the RED eco.
Doesnt work as well in the DSLR world since most (newbies) don’t use the proper naming system.

I’m confused, Isn’t the background layer in 3D mode so it can accept the lights?
If it is then why do you need to scale it?
Andy’s tip on using a camera is possibly the only quick fix from my experience.

It’s all in the compression settings.
Basically aliasing is the issue.

Any chance someone can send me an example of the AI file?
Curious to see where it fails.
I work daily with AI vectors designed by a large graphics team and AE.
Not once I’ve run into that issue.
We are all up to date with CC.
