I’ve even heard of companies trying to patent their authoring coding styles.

Going to DV adds another level of compression since DV is highly compressed2. Not really. Id say buy another system to do the down conversions

Yep….copy protection is a waste these days. Even many of the studios DVD titles don’t have them.

Are you using ac3 audio?
That’s not that much over so you’ll proably need to re encode one of the pieces

Most encoders are software based these days. Cinemcraft SP is about the finest encoder around unless youre prepared to hand over thousands of dollars

You need to contact Larry. Bd replication is a tricky thing even for the studios

Like I said, only at a licensed replication facility. But you need professional authoring software to provide what the replication facility needs like Do Studio Or Scenarist. Encode will not output the files needed. It will also cost a pretty penny and required a minimum run of about 1000 discs. But, like I said, copy protection is really a waste of time and money unless you plan on releasing thousands and thousands of copies. Why do you feel you need copy protection? 🙂

No only at a replication facility. Why do you want it encrypted anyway? Pirating issues are only a concern for the studios which sell millions of copies.
