DVDSP is your only real bet. What kind of issues with DVDSP are you refering too? Its not a perfect authoring platform but its darn close for $500.00

Just make NTSC discs. You’ll be fine. Ive authored several NTSC discs for Europe.

Most, if not all PAL player will read NTSC discs. I’d save the money and make 1 NTSC set. However your client might not agree 🙂

When compressor comes up you need to set your bit rate then use AC3 audio to import into DVDSP

I you plan to farm out the encoding to someone with a harware encoder for final mastering, compressor should be fine right now. Some say Bitvice is better – I personally dont see much of a difference except the fact BITvice will takes hours to encode.

mmmm…your doing something wrong. All I can say is read the manual carefully. If your new to authoring it takes some time to learn the ins and outs.

When you export from final cut do it through compressor.

lower your bitrate!! 🙂 try to keep your bitrate below 6.5 with AC3 audio. Good luck

You can use scripts but you dont have to. Use stories. Heres a good tutorial:
