Ive always had this argument with some people. Yes, Scenarist does let you construct a disc with no abstraction layer which in turn gives faster response time from menu to menu, VTS to VTS ect. But I say WHO CARES! I used Scenarist for several years and for really complicated projects I would use it. But for Low to mid level work DVDSP is great.
Never really had any major issues with it – never had people complain they couldn’t play a disc because of DVDSP’s abstraction layer

In the end the user only really cares about menus and functionality. Take great menu design and construct a DVD using both systems – people will not be able to tell a difference.

It all depends on which way the consumers go. This is basiically a big bet with some putting thier chips on RED and some putting them on BLACK.

  • Construct a command to determine the value of SPRM 18. Based on the answer, set your button highlight accordingly.

I looking into using DVDLab but on thier website they state the it shouldn’t be used and has not been tested for professional use?!? Makes me a little nervous but for the money its worth a shot.

There are bitrate analysers on videohelp.com – try there. you say it doesn’t play at all on his player? or does it skip? You could always go to circut city and test it on a bunch of players.

Another idea would be to go to Trai Forrester’s site and ask him to run it through an Eclipse and get a report from him. I did this once and it saved me a load of money.

You can burn one but there are no HD-DVD players on the market. You can play back on a G5, a DVD burned with DVDSP

It’s amazing to me that people who purchase an application for thousands of dollars have no idea how to author a simple disc:) Call Sonic support – Im sure they will help you out.
