  • That VOB file is only 32K so there’s nothing there. Just drag everything over except that small VOB file. Besides you’ll need to extract every asset and re-author the disc anyway. The client probably doesn’t have a clue how to make a DVD so it would probably be best to use their original assets to re-author that way.

  • Hmmm…That VIDEO_TS folder should simply be dragged to your desktop. What does your system say when you try this?

  • It’s impossible to have to VOBs to be named the same on a disc. Not sure how this disc was authored? How are you planning to re-author? The contents of the disc should be brought onto your desktop first – It should be as simple as deleting that Roxio Folder – its not letting you trash that folder?

Also, how are you adding copy protection? This can only be done at a licensed replication facility.

Best just to de-mux all assets then re-author the disc from scratch.

Why would anyone be offended by Walter’s comments?

Discussion like this have more affect on software developers like Adobe then posting on their features requests forums. If 1 person here saved themselves a couple of grand by finding Encore to be an inadequate tool for a particular BD job…that would be a good thing right?

The fact is that Encore is an incomplete BD authoring tool.

No offense….Capturing through a player’s outputs is terrible advice. It bad enough converting MPEG2 to an editable format but avoid going through a players outputs.

  • The Menu button wasn’t designed to be pressed during a menu and expect it to take you to another menu….at least not in DVDSP. Just put a button on the menu to return to the root menu.

But if you insist, I’d put a short 1 sec piece of black in the track 1 position with an end jump to the root menu.

You’ll need to make 1 track for your play all, then use stories for each chapter index. There should be NOTHING on each chapters end jump setting.

Honestly the best thing to do is rent a bunch of discs and get ideas from the professionals that way. I have no idea what kind of work you do so its almost impossible to answer the question.

Use Encore since you’ve posted in this forum 🙂 Designing menus is done in Photoshop and After Effects. What kind of ideas are you looking for?
