Encore or DVDit Pro is fine for what you want to do. There are also several free options to build a BDMV folder if you look around the net.

Also remember, your disc is only as good as your encoder. The cheapest BD complaint AVC encoders run around 4K. I think compressor as a BD option but its MPEG 2 only. On top of the fact that I wouldn’t use compressor for an SD disc much less and BD title 🙂

I wish people would do their homework and get over the fact that Encore is not to be used for BD production. It never has worked and probably never will. Adobe has great products – except for Encore 🙂 They didn’t lie to you. Encore does BD and FCP does not.
Blu Ray is advanced technology. Its not for those who use prosumer tools like Encore. It requires doing your homework. It requires larger budgets and time which, frankly, most clients can’t afford right now. Things will be changing with cheaper and “easier to use” tools but everything BD should be considered beta at this point.

No…The DVD spec doesn’t support accessing “outside” files. This was done using third party apps like Access or Interactual player. Tools like eDVD or Intellidisc were used to create this functionality but aren’t sold or supported anymore.
The ONLY reliable way to a access your PDFs is to create a menu explaing the user how to find the root of the disc – Add your ROM content there.
Basically…forget everything you’ve heard and seen in the past about accessing files from a button 🙂

There are many questions and alot of confusion on DVD@ccess in the past 2 years. The only answer I can give you is DO NOT USE IT! Its an old feature of DVDSP that should be taken out but hasn’t.

The comment wasn’t in aid of anything other than for others thinking of using Encore to produce BD titles …sorry, hope I didn’t offend. 🙂
We are in the early days of BD production – especially for independent producers.

I’m just curious why you guys promised a BD title for a client without testing the tool first? And now you plan to bring up a lawsuit? 🙂
Encore has not worked since day 1.

Maybe try Encore or DVDSP on the mac side. Your question is very broad so its very hard to determine the specific issue. Better yet, find someone in your area who is experienced with DVD.
