Not completely sure why its not working but Since your main track and its shared stories all same the info on the disc, it be affecting how your disc will preform.
If this were mine, I would use the 1 main struck for your Play All then split it up into stories but INSTEAD use use a Menu in the pause mode. The user can just press enter to continue on from there.

Whats your budget? LOL A good encoder can run in the 30K range or more. I swear by Cinemacraft:

Procoder is good one too. All you can do is try as many as you can to see what works best for you.

What you’ll need is a tool like MPEG Stream Clip. It will be able to demux your VOB files to get to the original MPEG streams or convert them to an editable format. From there you would do any editing then encode and re-author in your authoring tool of choice.

Not many choices out there for both DVD and BD. Encore, DVDit Pro and Sony’s prosumer tool. Maybe the new CS4 is better haven’t tested it myself yet.

Yes…integration between Encore and Photoshop is much better.
David was referring how the DVD spec handles layered menus in both DVDSP and Encore. Each layer or state is really a separate menu within a single Program Chain. Thats why you get that clunky & slow navigation. There used to be time where they crashed players and is a reason you dont see layered menus used that much.
The results are the same but yes, integration is easier and faster in Encore.

Dave’s correct…sorry I mis-read your post. Output to Hard Drive and choose DDP 2.0. This will give you the folders you need to deliver.

You need two different DLTs if your project is DL. DVDSP should ask you when to insert the second DLT – probably why it had issues at the replicator. Type IV or III shouldn’t matter.

No I meant if you need to mix 720 and 1080 in the SAME timeline then you would want to upsacle the 720 to 1080 first.
