DVD is nowhere near the same interactivity as Flash so it wont be as easy as just dropping you’re .swf into an authoring tool and your done 🙂 You will need to convert out of Flash each flip of the page separately as a .mov file then encode it to MPEG 2. From there you would create menus for each flip forward and each flip back. Not sure how much experience you have in DVD or video but it will take some work and you’ll need to know your way around Flash and DVDSP pretty well. Also remember your limited to 720×480 in DVD so that small type I see will not be readable.
Personally I would not put this on disc unless you plan to enlarge that type but this would mean doing all the animation and design by hand – lots of work & lots of experience needed for something like this.

Encore handles layered menus in much the same way. Its best not to use them no matter what authoring tool you have. No reason to switch to Encore if you have DVDSP…save yourself the money.

Sorry…it sounded like you were going to include the same material in both 720 and in 1080. Remember…the picture will be scaled to whatever monitor the end user is watching it on. So if they are watching your 1080 footage on a 720 monitor it will be downscaled to 720. If they are watching your 720p material on a 1080 monitor it will be upscaled to 1080..make sense?
If you HAVE to mixed both into one for a menu you will need to upscale your 720 to 1080 first to make 1 1080i title.

Either way you’d be OK. The authoring company your looking at is using a hardware set up so going to tape would fit their work flow. Several software encoders are available which will do just as good of job without having to dump to tape…Cinemacraft is one.

Compressor only works with DVDSP

Uncompressed is always your best bet but you will loose some quality no matter what
