I thought I’d found a solution using particle playground, a keyframed property map and the echo effect. But now it looks like the x-speed property doesn’t work in the ephemeral property mapper. Can’t get the speed to change no matter what min-max I enter.

    Anyone else have this problem?

    Thanks

The “2-D image” is actually a layout.

I have the layers parented in the order they attach in the layout. But when I start folding it up the axes get all rearranged which makes it difficult to be precise with the angle of fold. I’m thinking I might need to do something with nulls.

It’s actually the opposite, it looks fine on the timeline but looks soft in the compressed h264 quicktime movie.

I solved it by auto-tracing the object, then pasting the path it created into the anchor point motion path of my object. Phew, it worked!

    Hi Sean,

Yes, I successfully used cinema tools. Here’s the video if you are interested in seeing the results:

I would have liked to see less blur in the butterflies wings when the butterflies take to the air. However, in order to capture that I probably would have needed to overcrank more than 60p or perhaps used a faster shutter?

Thanks for the tip on twixtor.

Wow, thanks for that totally condescending and unhelpful response.

I’m guessing that I can do something in Cinema Tools. Anyone?

Just to follow up, I ultimately bought the Manfrotto 504HD head with the Libec RT30B legs. The ultimate frankenpod!

    Cheers,

Thanks everyone. My initial sense was this that this would be difficult/costly and you’ve just confirmed that.

I’ve tried to discourage people in the company from pursuing this but they’re determined to at least get a sense of how much it would cost.

As we’re located in NYC and so close to so many major media outlets it seems a little ridiculous that our editors can’t just hop in a cab for an interview.

    Thanks again,

    Eric
