The clip does not have any master effects on it. I’ve only applied color correction effects to the clip in the timeline. I’ve disabled those and even removed them completely and that doesn’t make a difference. As for the source panel’s zoom settings, changing it from fit to any other value makes no difference either.

May 7, 2014 at 1:34 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro CC workspace not showing on second monitorAnd I just figured out how to fix it.
In System Preferences, go to Mission Control and uncheck Displays have separate Spaces. It will require you to log out then log back in for the changes to take effect.
What an annoying feature.

I kept getting this error frequently across multiple projects. I haven’t had time to delve into why this keeps happening, but I did learn one thing. When the error pops up and asks if you want to restore the project from the auto-save files (at least I think that’s what it asks), hit no or cancel. The new project window in Premiere will open. Then open up the finder and double-click on the project file and it should open fine (it opened fine for me every time). Re-save it as another file name (I just added a numerical value to the end of mine to keep track of how many times I had to do this) and delete the old project file.
This error may continue to happen, but as long as you’re saving the project and using the auto-save feature, you shouldn’t loose your work. You’ll probably have to do these steps until Adobe finds a solution. Every time this happens, I send the error report to Apple and one to Adobe so hopefully they’re taking notice.

I purchased a thunderbolt to DVI adapter and hooked up the monitor through that. It works great now! However… it does not put the monitor to sleep. It will only shut the screen off but full power is still sent to the monitor. Previously with on my old MBP with displayport, when the computer screen shut off, so did the monitor and the monitor was put the sleep. This is annoying because the screen still glows. But at least I’ve got one thing fixed and I can use the monitor properly. I have sent this to Apple.

Wow Ted, that looks great! I’ll work with those effects tonight. I can’t tell you how much better that looks.

It is a very annoying bug with InDesign and you would think Adobe would have a work around to this.
But the only solution I could do was create a new document with new master pages and copy and past all of my content into that document. It worked perfectly. And for a 44 page booklet only took about 15 minutes; a lot less time than I spent searching the web for a fix.
I did also find a script that can import PDF’s and other InDesign projects, but it only copy and pastes them, it doesn’t retain the editing capabilities. It’s a multipage importer and can be found at this link: https://indesignsecrets.com/zanelli-releases-multipageimporter-for-importing-both-pdf-and-indd-files.php.

And I just figured how to make this stop and only import the markers I placed for graphics. In AE, go to After Effects – Preferences – Media & Disk Cache and uncheck ‘Create Layer Markers from Footage XMP Metadata.’

You may have to ask LaCie for that firmware update because I did not see it on their website.

Mine work correctly now. What LaCie did for me was send me a firmware update for the drives. The new LaCie drives have a power-save feature. However that feature cannot be disabled with the software LaCie uses. So the new firmware they sent me disabled the power-save function and now they work perfectly.
In my opinion, power-save is a good feature. However we as editors need our drives running a full speed to get the most out of them. Power-save should be a function we can turn on and off, like on computers. It should not be built permanently into the drive itself.

Well I accessed the console and the kernel.log but I don’t really know what to do with all of that information now.
I’m not an IT guy or computer engineer. Just an editor that is really getting annoyed with this problem. I’ve put in a support ticket to LaCie and I’m waiting to hear back from them.
