    Two more questions:

    1) I’ve got several projects that need the same watermark. Is it possible to copy the title design from one project to another?

    2) The monitoring signal is going through an UltraStudio 4K that splits the signal: one to SDI and one to HDMI. The text layer is showing up on the SDI display but not on the HDMI display. If I use a .psd watermark instead, it shows up on both displays.

Can you explain this and is there a fix?

If it matters: the HDMI side of the split goes into another HDMI switcher that can send the signal to a number of displays.

    Thanks,
    Eric

Ok that worked. That’s confusing when it comes to EXRs: turning Single Clip on still produces separate EXR files, but it will composite the multiple video tracks… Got it.

    Thanks Sascha,

    Using Resolve 11.3 Purchased Version:

I was able to create the watermark using Resolve’s title tools in the Edit window. When I go to the Deliver window, I see the watermark properly positioned over the video (V2 is turned on), but when I hit Start Render, the title goes away in the preview, and does not show up in the rendered media. When the render stops, the text doesn’t show up again unless I click away from the Deliver window, such as clicking to the Color or Edit window, and then back to Deliver. Only then can I see the composited title. What’s going on and do I fix this?

    Thanks,
    Eric

Sascha thanks for the reply. Can you point me to that thread? Not sure how to search for it.

I found that this LUT has a bug. When the “Highlight” button was activated, Resolve shut off all the grading work on the export. In order to grade properly with the LUT, the Highlight had to be off. Wierd…

Answered my own question: it is the same as replacing video. You need to note down the original audio track in and out points in the timeline, then mark those points on the new track before dragging and dropping in to replace. However, depending on the supplier of the audio track, the exact start and stop points on the preview and purchased track might be slightly off, as was my experience on one track and not on another.

I will try suggestions. Just to clarify, here’s the original video with original sequence setting of 720×480, re-sized out of FCP to 480×360 and converted to flash:
    https://www.skatepass.com/videos/CustomSkateboard.html

I want to keep the resolution of the 720 wide, but crop the 480 down to 380. I did it successfully here with another video by re-sizing the frame and exporting in one step out of FCP:

Thanks for everyone’s help. COW community is awesome.

    Hi Steve,
I’ve done this successfully before, which is why I’m totally confused why it’s not working now. This is a 640×380 frame compressed with the right pixel aspect:
    https://www.skatepass.com/videos/SkatePassProgram.html

The frame size isn’t the issue, that part is working fine. The compression seems to be defaulting back to square when I need it to stay at the other setting…or is there something else causing the stretch?

    Thanks,

    Eric
