I do have build x283 installed and unfortunately have yet to see any AESelflink instances due to the MP check box locking up the application. Perhaps a clean install will solve it, I’ll update if I can get it going.

Hi Panello,

It’s incorrect on play, checked everything out with calibrated test patterns, etc. I submitted the problem to support and Kristian Lam is looking into it, so hopefully I’ll have some more news soon. As a side note, everything worked fine in FCP 1 with 6.2 drivers, so I guess I can always revert for now but naturally would love to get this up and going.

F9 is used as an Dashboard & Expose hot key as a basic default in MacOS X, hence the “funky” screen behavior of everything shrinking. Go to your System Preferences and select “Dashboard & Expose”, you can then change the hot keys or turn them off completely, freeing them up for After Effects.

This doesn’t really pertain to my particular issue. The issue is that the video playing out of the Decklink card is playing back darker on the HD monitors, scopes, etc. and only during playback. If you park the playhead, it returns to normal. I’ve tested the other BM codecs and no other BM codec seems to be affected or behaving in this manner, only the 10-bit RGB codec which is unfortunately the codec I need to be working in.

Hello Leonard,

You could use a stand alone program such as Adobe After Effects to process the QT movie. You would import the QT file and Render Out an Image Sequence. I’ve never tried exporting so many frames directly out of QT so I can’t speak to the limit but sometimes I render out over 160,000 frames from AE and it’s rock solid. If you’re on a super tight budget you may be able to pick up an older version of AE and it would be fine for your needs.

Sorry guys it was actually a simple solution, the file was actually a FCP QT reference file that was not “self contained”. Something got tweaked in the file somehow (no clue on how) and I output a new yet identical reference file and AE was happy again. But thank you all for the help.

Well solved the problem, not a layer issue, but as a side note, are there a maximum number of layers? Can’t find anything in the manual.

Updated to the Decklink 5.9.2 Drivers, no help there, HD also does not work in Component mode either! ????
