Have you “collapsed” the multiclips before generating the XML?

That document is 3 official versions of the software out of date… They have had Config guides for 8.1, 8.1.1 and now 8.2 since then.

So you could take another look at the new one.

you need to read the DaVinci Config Guide as created by BMD… They clearly state what is needed for a MBP Resolve.

You could delete or disable the black/slug…

  • Is there a reason you need to “roundtrip” back to FCPx? Have you tried the “Export to FCP” easy setup? Or you could just bake the whole show to one track via “target” mode.

I tried the “Roundtrip” rough once and didn’t quite get what I wanted out of it so I always “Export” for the DaVinci render easy setup.

    Good luck…

[Alexander Higgins] “The System is a 5,1 MacPro with 24gb Ram and QuadroFX 4800 and a Geforce GUI Card, blackmagic broadcast card and fibre storage..”

It sounds to me like you need to change your GPU situation… not that that cure everything but… I was under the impression the Quadro FX 4800 was weak sauce compared to the newer Quadro 4000… So maybe a 4000 as a GUI, a Cubix and 3x GFX 480’s or 580’s would help. That won’t fix everything but it could help. And since there’s the new nvidia drivers, buy PC cards… or get’m from macvidcards… All told though, that and some super fast local storage will get you closer. Though, depending on how much storage you need, that’s still @ $20k (Storage + HBA + Cubix + new GUI + new GPUs)

Have you used compressor repair and/or trashed you FCP pref’s?

  • JVC makes some nice monitors. AJA’s video cards (and the software that goes with them) are the best. I’ve had to switch to BMD for DaVinci use but would switch back in an instant if AJA were ever supported again…

In the Qmaster System Preferences, “Stop Sharing”. Then “Reset Services”. In the Advanced tab, check that “restart services every 24hrs” is checked. Then turn sharing back on.

That usually fixes things for me. That in conjunction w/ compressor repair should fix all compressor problems.
