  • Thanks for that Dan, it worked!

Yes I think an upgrade to CS5 might be in order but this will do nicely for now,

    Thanks again,

  • Also, I’ve just realised this expression doesn’t work when you move the light past the object, only when you move the layer past the light. It’s probably a big ask but does anyone have a solution for this as well?!

    Thanks,

  • Hello,

I was wondering if this expression works when applied to a nested comp. Should the layers within the comp respond to the expression? I’ve tried applying it and it doesn’t seem to have any effect.

    Thanks,

  • Thanks ted, that works for multiple instances, but only ones that move in the same direction, I was hoping to pre-comp it so I could flip it and have the two spirals moving in opposite directions. Any idea how I could do that without having to draw another path?

    Thanks!

Thanks for that, I have just found that there was a layer style applied to the base layer in photoshop before I imported it which seems to have been blocking the matte somehow, when I deactivated the layer style in after effects the matte worked fine. Thanks for your help though,
