I haven’t used Premiere in a long time, but there should be a way to right-click on your clip in the media manager and change its aspect ratio from 1.0 to 0.9 so that the pI clip matches the project.
Your best bet would be to post this question at the CreativeCow Premiere forum. They’ll know the right steps you need to take when importing your pI clip.

AVI or an image sequence works best. You can try converting the WMV to an AVI out of movie maker with MediaCoder. DIVX, XVID or Huffy are all decent codec options.

In my experience sometimes paint programs masks have a habit of picking up a pixel border around an object that you use to make a mask. When saving out of photoshop, even if you have an alpha channel, it’s a good idea to fill in the background of your image with the same colour as the title (or the same colour as the edges of your title).

The Quick Load Library command in the library window’s right-click menu only shows .il3 files. Use Load Library, and you should be able to see IELs.

There’s no way to scale a project, and there’s no way to zoom to anything but a whole number, so the closest you’d get would be 53 or 54%. Even resizing the stage and zooming down the emitter would be off by a bit, since you can only change an emitter’s zoom to a whole number.

This tutorial covers the basics of disintegrating. If you’re doing something that covers the full screen, then you really only need to use the Get Color from Layer setting, and not worry about the transparency. When outputting your final clip, make sure to hide your background so that it doesn’t mess with your alpha channel when you import the rendered particles into AE.

I’d animate the Number graph so that it’s only at a number other than 0 for one frame. So if you want the screen empty, 100 particles to show up at frame 10 and no new ones after it, set a key of 0 at frame 9, 100 at frame 10, and 0 at frame 11.

Maybe a combination of Barrage and one of the Boom emitters in that same library? They work pretty good if you turn their Number off after a few frames, the last one is good for creating distant debris.
There are two pretty perfect emitters to do this in the eclectic pro emitters set, grenade hit and something else similar.

December 30, 2006 at 8:44 pm in reply to: Creating first emitter, a Water Ball. Any tips?If you want the behaviour to be the same as the human torch, the easiest way to do this is to change the colours in each particle type’s Properties from orange/red to blueish. You then turn off the Intense option on the ‘Flames to Smoke’ particle type to get a different look to the emitter. Then loading up one of the water libraries and using one of the particle shapes in there for the ‘flames’ and ‘flames to smoke’ types should give you something new. Bubbles01 is a nice one to try.

Go into the Library and hit Ctrl+M to bring up the Library Manager. That’ll let you reorganize all the libraries pretty easily, it’s pretty self-explanatory once you have the interface open.
