I am actually using 5.03 (I think) and the regular p2 import didn’t work.

Gary,
I am not using FCP but rather an Avid Nitris. As long as I can get the media out of the 1700 deck transcoded to 1080i/59.97 thats all I need. That way I can do the offline in 30 frame and load all the HDCAM and DVC ProHD as 30 frame footage and all will be well.

Thanks for all your help, I am not really as familiar with the Panasonic product line as I am with the HDCAM stuff.

Thanks for the quick response. I thought this could be done but wasn’t sure what machine to use.

The original idea was to use the HVX200 to shoot 720p/23 but the offline is being cut on an older avid which doesn’t support P@ media.
This way they can record 720p/23, using the 1700 deck, they can downconvert to standard def/29.97 on the fly while loading the avid. Then when they are done and send me the project I can reload at HD 1080i/29.97 from the 720p tapes and the 1080p/23 HDCAMs. Everything will be in sync and frame accurate.
