I have some test P2 media that was sent to me on a data DVD and would like to import it into FCP.

The P2 import doesn’t seem to work as it must be looking for the P2 card data structures.
I have a bunch of folders on my desktop (VIDEO, AUDIO, CLIP) etc that are in the CONTENTS folder.

Is there a way for me to import these files in FCP?

    Thanks…

The easiest thing to do is create a new folder on your harddrive:
label it P2_DVD – then copy the CONTENTS folder and LASTCLIP.txt (if there is one)
    to this new folder.
    Then import>P2>P2_DVD

What version of FCP do you have?
If you are on 5.1.4 then all you need to do when you open the p2 import window is click on the buton in the top left corner of the window and navigate to the contents folder and click open. It will come up in the window and you can then open it and select the clips you want to import.

Making a folder called P2_DVD worked perfectly.
    Thanks!

I am actually using 5.03 (I think) and the regular p2 import didn’t work.
    Thanks

Ahhh, you should upgrade to the latest version. It will open up a lot of P2 possibilities.
