Hi Zol,
We support Postscript and TrueType fonts. So, if you are using an OpenType font, it will not show up in the ProAnimator font list. If you have the font as a TrueType or Postscript, you can try installing those versions, and they should show up in the ProAnimator font list.\

February 15, 2010 at 5:56 pm in reply to: Casting shadows with AE Lights in Pro InvigoratorHi John,
Sure, when working with After Effects lights, be sure to enable the “Use Comp Lights” setting for 3D Invigorator. In addition, go to the After Effects Lights settings, and enable the “Casts Shadows” option. Then, position the lights close to your 3D Invigorator objects, and you will be able to have 3D Invigorator objects cast shadows onto other objects.

February 12, 2010 at 9:57 pm in reply to: Invigorator limitation in AEF camera reach / visibility distance?Hi Frederic,
What you can try is to make the object smaller. Then it may be possible for you to move the object farther before the object gets clipped off.
Hope this helps.

February 11, 2010 at 11:00 pm in reply to: Invigorator limitation in AEF camera reach / visibility distance?Hi Frederic,
If you are using the 3D Invigorator camera, here are some steps that you can work with to get the draw distance to be 30,000 units instead of 10,000 units.
Go into the 3D Invigorator Setup window (by clicking the little red ball) and save your scene. To save your scene, use the “Cmd + s (Mac) / Ctrl + s (Win)” command, and name the scene. If the scene doesn’t save with an extension, then add “.zxp” to the end of the project file.
Next, open the saved scene with a text editor tool. In the text editor, use the find tool, and search for “clip”. You should be able to find the following information below:
_____________________________begin CameraX
name “dflt_cam”
…………. (I omitted the other data in here)
clip 0.100000 10000.000000 <--- change this value to 30000 _____________________________ After you make the change to the "clip" value, save the .zxp project file again, and go back into After Effects project. Go into the 3D Invigorator setup window and use the "Cmd + o (Mac) / Ctrl + o (Win)" command to open the scene. Select the Zaxwerks project you saved and open up the scene. After opening the scene, press OK to go into the After Effects Interface, and you should be able to adjust the Camera Distance value to 30000 before the Invigorator objects are clipped. You may need to use the "Update Camera" button to have this updated. Best, Edward

February 11, 2010 at 10:50 pm in reply to: depth of field on an Invigorator object in an AEF comp?Hi Frederic,
I’m unsure right now whether that will be implemented in the new version or not. However, we try to implement as many new features as we can, so it’s possible that it will be supported in the upcoming versions.

Depth of Field isn’t supported with 3D Invigorator projects, so you will have to apply a blur effect to your objects to get the depth of field effect that you’re looking for.

Hi Alan,
Unfortunately, Unicode characters are not supported as of now. So you will want to bring the text into Illustrator or Photoshop first, and then save the text as an Illustrator file. You can then use the “Open Illustrator File” command to import the text into 3D Invigorator.
If you need tips on how to import the vector art from Photoshop or Illustrator, be sure to check out our video tutorials which will cover the techniques.

February 5, 2010 at 10:03 pm in reply to: Texture looks fine in AE, but flickers in renderHi Tony,
Great to hear that you were able to resolve the issue. Thanks for the tip!

Hi Tony,
You may be running into a flickering issue if you are using Multiprocessing, or it may be your texture on your object that is causing the flicker. What you can do is to either disable Multiprocessing, or load your texture map as a Layer Map first, then apply the layer map onto your object. You should no flickering issues once you use either of the techniques.

Hi Nick,
While your set-up seems correct, one important aspect is the placement. Your 3D Text and the floor layer has to be close to one another for the reflection to show up. The further away the 3D Text is to the floor layer, the further the reflection will be from the floor. I’ll send you an example project so you can see what the basic setup looks like.
As for the 3D Reflector Script, you well need to download the newest script below:
https://www.zaxwerks.com/reflector/reflector_updater_cs4.zip
If you are using After Effects CS4, be sure to get the newest script, or you will get the “flash” effect that you are seeing.
As for exporting, the Export 3D Model feature is used to export the model into different 3D programs such as Maya, Lightwave, Cinema 4D, etc. It shouldn’t crash to use that feature though. Please let us know your system specs, as well as provide a crash log so we can see what you are running into.
