Hi Tom,
Sorry for the inconvenience. We’re working on a lot of new features for the new version of ProAnimator, so unfortunately that part is time consuming on top of the 64-bit conversion. We’re working hard to get the new version released, as well as make it the best quality we can get it to. When the new product is released, we’ll definitely send out e-mail notices to all our users.

Hi Nico,
My apologies. To open the scene, go into the 3D Invigorator Set-up window, then press “Cmd + O”. This brings up the Open Scene menu, and you’ll be able to select your saved scene.

Hi Nico,
What you’re running into is a clipping issue. There is a Camera Clipping Distance of 10,000 units. To avoid this, you can try playing around with the scale of your imported object. When importing the object, you can adjust the Scale to “10%” instead of 100%, and you should be able to zoom in/out of the object a lot more before the clipping takes place.
The other way is to save your 3D Invigorator scene. To do this, go into the 3D Invigorator Set-up window, then use “Cmd + S” to save the scene. Then, open the 3D Invigorator scene with a word editor. Then, in the word editor, do a search on the word “clip”. For every value of “10000” you see, change the value to “30000”. Save the scene again, and go back into 3D Invigorator and re-load the 3D Invigorator scene. You will now have a clip distance of 30,000 units.
Hope this helps.

Hi Tom,
We are working on the 64-bit conversion for our plug-ins. The Werks and 3D Reflector will be 64-bit compatible by the end of Summer.
ProAnimator, along with all the new features, will be 64-bit compatible by the end of Fall. In the mean time, you can use ProAnimator as a standalone and render out the movies with an alpha channel, and then import the movie into After Effects CS5.
Sorry for any inconvenience and we appreciate the patience.

Hi Robert,
3D Serpentine allows you to attach 3D Objects as your end caps, or have different beveled heads and tails as well as customizable serpent bodies. With the different combinations, you should be able to find the effect that you’re looking for.
Feel free to run the program as a demo so you can try out the features of the program. To download the plug-in, please visit the download page below:

Hi Anna,
You’re right that the custom edges you apply gets applied to all sides of the object. With that said, for the LCD that you are making, you should be able to create 2 separate shapes, and place them together. One piece will be the LCD panel in the front while the other piece will be the piece in the back with all the exhaust holes. By using bump maps, you will be able to create the look for the holes.
Hope this helps.

July 8, 2010 at 9:19 pm in reply to: position an object and make it stick to (the position and movement) of another object on the same trackHi Mark,
From your descriptions, it seems like the animation was created by tweaking the position of objects in different poses. If this is the case, then the method of copying and pasting the Position of the objects in the Stats window may be the best solution.
If the animation was created from the Animation controls window (using the Move X/Y/Z commands, the Rotation controls, etc), then you should be able to move the object into the same Object Track, and the object will behave the same as all the other objects in the Object Track.
Without looking at the project setup, it’s hard to guess how the animation was created. If you need me to take a look at your project file, please send the ProAnimator scene to ed@zaxwerks.com. Describe what you want to do, and which object you want to follow which Object Track.

Hi Mark,
We haven’t finalized the upgrade pricing yet. However, expect the upgrade pricing to be relatively the same as previous upgrade prices. The current upgrade price for 3D Invigorator is $99, so the new upgrade price should be in a similar price range.
Hope this helps.

Hi Dan,
If you can get the tracking data from the video, you can have 3D Invigorator track the tracking data. If there’s no way to obtain the tracking data, then you may have to use the method that you mentioned.

If you used the tweak controls to animate your objects, then the only way to have the objects move together is to select the Transition, then go to “Transition Grouping” and choose “Make Hard Group”. This will force the objects to move together. However, keep in mind that you may need to go to the ending pose and reposition the objects so that they are at the same ending position for the animation to work out.
If you used the animation window (using the Move X/Y/Z controls, etc), then you can move the object out of the Object Track, then move the object back into the track, and the object should move along with everything in the Object Track.
