Probably because DVD Architect is really old and your DVD recorder is really new! Several new versions of DVD Arcitect have been released since then.
Here’s what you might try:
PREPARE in DVD Architect
BURN using some other program like Nero or Record Now (not sure about “Windows DVD Maker” – should work if it can use the Video_TS/Audio_TS folders created by DVD Architect)Edward Troxel

The audio is probably AC3. Vegas 4 won’t read AC3 audio. You might try some other program to convert the audio back to WAV. Or you could just connect the audio plugs from the DVD player to the computer, press PLAY on the DVD player and RECORD it in the computer.
Beginning with Vegas 6.0c, you can use the File – Import – DVD Camcorder Disc to import from non-copyprotected DVDs.

Ok, I’m a little confused. WHAT is your final destination? That will determine what you need to render to. It’s quite possible you rendered at a very low resolution and then blew it up full screen which WOULD pixelate! Also, if you’re zooming in on the images, make sure you use PAN/CROP for that.

Vegas, by itself, can do PNG or JPG. Besides the options Rob gave you, you could also export a series of PNG images and let them use those. If they truly insist on TIFF, you could use a graphics program to batch convert them all.
If they return a TIFF sequence and you want to import them back into Vegas, you might seriously want to convert them all to PNG anyway.

One option would be to use ripple editing (or Post Ripple Editing) – look them up in the help file.
Another option would be to right-click the first image you want moved, choose “Select Events to End” and then drag left. That should move everything on that track right of the right-clicked event.

Use Pan/Crop on that clip inside the TV to zoom out.
You would use Pan/Crop for zooming and Track Motion for sizing it smaller and positioning it.

And where the temporary files are being stored. If on the C: drive, you really need to move them.

Upgrade to the Pro version of Vegas?
That’s one of the differences in the “little brother” of the full version of Vegas.

For HD, you’ll either need to go through a hardware capture card (like BlackMagic for example) or use a “Secondary Monitor”. I would not trust the s-video out of a video card. You can connect a second monitor to your computer and that should work fine for external previewing.
