Put a scrolling text media generator on track 1. Type in the desired text. Changed the Track motion to 3D and then rotate it on the X axis.

You’ll have to manually create it but it can be done using Bezier masks. Steve Roffler did somthing very similar to what you’re asking. It looked VERY neat but took a ton of time to create and a ton of time to render.

Why not just install as a secondary drive and leave the boot drive alone?

I do all of my editing on laptops now. My main one is a 3.4GHz, 800MHz FSB, 1 Gig RAM, with 2 60Gig 7200RPM drives. It runs Vegas and Excalibur very well. Vegas should run on pretty much any laptop you wish to install it on.

Is it that it won’t let you save any more or you simply can’t see them AFTER saving them?

  • Double-click the event which will create a selection area around that event. Now look in the lower right-hand corner of the timeline. You will see three timecodes: In, Out, and Length.

You don’t need the “pro” version. You just need to do as Mike said:

Start the installation process. At the screen where you can choose standard or custom (whatever the options are) choose Custom. You will then be presented with a list of additional items that can be installed. Just pick them all (the safest way) specifically making sure the authoring components are chosen.

  • PTT from Vegas will create the W64 file. If you simply want to output an existing DV-AVI file, here are a couple of options:

    1) Output the file using Vegas’ CAPTURE program.
    2) Output using some other program such as Scenalyzer
