Put the cursor on the frame you want. Change the preview mode to “Best (Full)”. Now click on the “Save Snapshot” button just above the preview screen. This will give you a snapshot of just that one frame as either a JPG or PNG. Now you can just drag that snapshot into DVDA for the menu.
For better results, you might want to deinterlace after taking the snapshot or use a script which will set all the proper settings in Vegas before taking the snapshot so Vegas will deinterlace it for you.

Which version of Vegas 6 are you using? What did you change your “Ram Preview” setting to?
Two things to try:
1) Update to 6.0c
2) Reset the Ram Preview amount back to the default of 16 Meg.Edward Troxel

Yes, that option is designed to work with the VOB files on the DVD. However, note that it was added as a new feature in Vegas 6.0c.

As long as Windows sees it as simply 3 monitors, you should be able to do that. If you’re trying to use a “tv out” on a card, that won’t work.

You need to use the “External” capture program. Are you using the external one or the internal one? Vegas 6 is working great with both AG-DV2000 decks I have.

At church, we do it this way:
We have multiple cameras running to a video mixer via S-Video. We have a sound feed direct from the soundboard also connected to the video mixer. The video mixer is then connected to a deck vid S-Video for the video and RCA for the audio. The deck is connected to a computer via firewire. We then capture the fully mixed church service direct to the computer in real time. As soon as the service is finished, the fully mixed service can be dropped onto the timeline for final editing (i.e. shrink to fit the time, add titles, etc…).

In the full version of Vegas, you can use a Velocity Envelope to change speeds from -100% (full backwards) through 0% (freeze frame) up to 300% allowing you to easily hit .05x. Using the CTRL-Resize method, you can go from .25x to 4x. I don’t believe Movie Studio has the Velocity Envelope. However, you could always take the clip, slow it to .25, render that, add it back to the timeline, and slow it down again to .25 which would effectively give you .0625x.
