As long as you’re talking DV, “capture” is a misnomer – it’s really more like a file COPY so you’ll see no difference between various programs capturing DV via firewire.

No. I mean posting the VEG file so that we can open it and see the actual project. That way we can determine if you might have some settings set incorrectly that is adding to your render time. As I said, we don’t need the media so we won’t see your actual final results.

Yes, a computer will show the “safe area”. Always best to plan on being able to see the safe area BUT don’t put anything important in the safe area so it still works fine on TVs.

To really be able to diagnose possible causes, it would be helpful to see the actual VEG file (NOT the media – just the project file). The numbers you are giving are unrealisitically large unless there’s something else going on such as the things Gary mentioned.

I think the velocity envelope is only in the full version of Vegas and not Movie Studio. If you have Movie Studio, you might want to consider upgrading to the full version. If you already have the full version… what Gary said.
