Use the Windows sound controller to adjust the volume that Vegas is seeing. Most systems have a little speaker icon in the startbar area next to the time.

If you want to go through your DV device, the easiest way is to use Scenalyzer Live.

If you want to go through your sound card, just arm a track in Vegas to record and then press Record in Vegas.

You look at the properties on the right side

Track 1: Mask (Assuming WHITE on TRANSPARENT background) with track compositing mode on Multiply (Mask)
Track 2: Clip to appear in the mask set to be a child of track 1
Track 3: Clip to appear in the “Transparent” area

Do you happen to have a “WowExec” running? Sometimes 16bit drivers (like for a scanner) can cause this. Search around for problems with “Twain”.

I was just thinking that the MPEG2 preset you used might have included audio and DVDA didn’t automatically pick up the AC3 for some reason. That’s why I always double-check to make sure the AC3 is being used.
