  • How do I capture -just- audio?

I want to record 10hrs of radio broadcast.

I figured I’d output my stereo to my DV device and use Vegas to capture directly to my
drive. I can’t seem to figure out how to capture just audio, or can’t Vegas do it?

I’m trying to use the least amount of drive space here too – I don’t want this to take up loads of HD space cause I only have around 40gig free.

What’s the best way for me to go about doing this? Oh and I need good record quality too.

If you want to go through your DV device, the easiest way is to use Scenalyzer Live.

If you want to go through your sound card, just arm a track in Vegas to record and then press Record in Vegas.

    Hello
You also may want to look at Total Recorder. It’s a great little program for recording anything your computer hears. Nice thing about it is you can pre-set the recording medium, like WAV, OGG, MP3 etc in order to save on disk space.

I use it for recording my online radio station.

Run your stereo through your sound card and record away. Then you can edit in Vegas or Sound Forge

Ok. I tried arming a track for recording and it’s working. All except that everything is peaking at 0db and is way too loud and sounding very flat.

How do I adjust the input levels? Couldn’t find anything in the help for that.

Use the Windows sound controller to adjust the volume that Vegas is seeing. Most systems have a little speaker icon in the startbar area next to the time.
