Joseph, you are correct that Titler Pro 1 is not included with Vegas Pro 13. Titler Pro 3 is a significant update to Titler Pro 1 with all the features of Titler Pro 1 plus Titler Pro 2 and the new features found only in Titler Pro 3.
When upgrading to Vegas Pro 13, you are given the offer to also upgrade to Titler Pro 3 for $99 and you will also be given a free Lower 3rds package worth $60. It is definitely more worth-while to upgrade to Titler Pro 3 than to purchase Titler Pro 1 as both are the same price and you also get the Lower 3rds package with Titler Pro 3.

Matt, that is incorrect. “Titler Pro 3” is the newest NewBlueFX titler and is a special offer to Vegas users. Titler Pro 1 was bundled free with Vegas Pro 11 and 12.
ProType Titler is still alive and well in Vegas Pro 13.

Titler Pro 2 and 3 will now save the presets under {My Documents}\NewBlueFX making them much easier to find.

For saved templates, you might look in the
c:\Program Files\NewBlue\Titler Pro for Windows\Resources folder. There are many subfolders to look through but the preset may be there.
Is it possibly a difference of 32-bit vs 64-bit? DirectX and OpenFX should share the same resources. But if one is 32-bit and one is 64-bit, then the resources may be under c:\Program Files(x86)\NewBlue\Titler Pro for Windows\Resources instead.

To convert from DirectX to OpenFX, you would need to do the following:
1. Have the DirectX version installed.
2. For every title created using DirectX, open them and do a File – Save As and save each to their own name
3. Now uninstall the DirectX version and install only the OpenFX version.
4. Now replace the DirectX versions with OpenFX versions. When adding the new OpenFX title, then do a File – Open and open the saved title.For Vegas Pro 10 and newer, it is certainly recommend that you install only the OpenFX version.

Vegas Pro 10 requirements state XP 32-bit SP3 as being fine. It will not run on my laptop because it has XP SP2.

Our installers include both DirectX and OpenFX. Here’s the guidelines for installing into Vegas.
If you have both versions installed, I would recommend rebooting, then uninstall, then install again making sure you choose only the OpenFX version.
Once installed, it will show up in all supported versions of Vegas (i.e. the OpenFX version will automatically show up in 10, 11, and 12) so there’s no need to reinstall after installing a new version of Vegas. They will automatically already be there.
