Then I’m not sure I’m following you. A “Preset” is simply a specific group of settings. If you pull up a preset, it simply changes all settings to how that preset is defined. Beyond that, it’s listed as “untitled”. As you make changes, that preset will not be changed – only the settings for that one instance of the effect.

Add the marker in the TRIMMER and it will follow to the timeline but stay on that event.

Have you tried typing in a new name where it says “Untitled”? Just type in a name for that preset and then click on the save icon and you’ll get a new preset under that name.

You would need a highly specialized script written to perform that task. There are existing scripts that could spread the clips apart by the length you specify (i.e. the length of the ad) but one that adds a specific clip at each point would need to be written.

Not sure what you mean by the “Track slider envelope bar”

To get a volume envelope, just press “V”. Then double-click the envelope to add a new point and adjust the volume as needed.

Add a VOLUME ENVELOPE and then you can adjust it as needed.

If you can’t tape them in front of a blue or green screen, you could try difference masking. There’s a good example of this in a “two cats” sample on the web.

There are multiple ways you can do multi-cam edits. Take a look at Vol 1 #9 of my newsletters to see multiple ways including script methods (which have evolved tremendously since then). Also Vegas Pro 8 has multi-cam editing built-in.
