Thanks Chris it was one of my close friend had that problem. I found out his real problem is he was animating the photo and then placing a FCP made effect along with the photo, when I found that out I made him use dissolve or make the effect in FCP or Motion from scratch and it work fine thanks.

I just edit a two camera job with none jam synk timecode camera and the audio was recorded with one of those cheep audio recorder Zoom H2 edit in FCP studio 2 and I did not want to use the multi-cam edit in FCP which I read up on several time and understand the procedure so I went the the way I normally do the edit.
1 I edit all the shot I want from the main camera
2 I lined up the audio of both camera on the time line blow the timeline up very big use Option + or – to slip them in perfect making sure the second camera is selected.
3 On the key board I use B for blade and T for selection tool to make all my cutaway or B role.
4 Last but not lease I lay down the audio from the Zoom H2 and it was perfect I surprised myself.

I will not do this again, if I am doing another two camera HiDef job I will rent a hd camera with jamsynk and brake out my old Fostex PD4 good luck and one love.

There is only one reason why I would not buy the XDCAM EX is it does not have the ability to jamsync timecode with other cameras if I was to use it as a second stand alone camera I would like to know why that was not added.

I am a Projectionist who work in a 17 theater complex we have one digital projector and its ok (350k Cost) even when movie is shot on film does not look good as film. I have seen dozens of movie that is shot using digital and they are ok but different look from film. Some how if your going to transfered digital to 35mm it does not look right. (example Miami Vice)
I think Red 4k Digital is on to something and maybe you should look into this camera, I have not seen footage from the camera other than the one they posted on their website.

As to the Apple issue we are living in a era of roothless Capitalism where smaller company are crush by the larger company. If you notice there is a all out war from Apple to crush Adobe and Avid and they are suceding to and extend. And even though I have benefit at times from these rapacious behavour things like these put company in trouble and cause the working class much ecconomics chaos, the big power such as wallmart and other distributor have export over 20 million job that have payed American working class from $15.00 to $30.00 per hour and replace them with jobs at $8.00 to $10 per hour.

I am very proud of a brother like you who have come foreward to educate us about the true story about Aurora because they were a good company that I was loyal to just like how I am loyal to Apple. My two daughter are in high school and although window pc are less expensive I spend the extra funds and buy them Apple products.

Apple need to know that they are on top and the same people they pass going up to the top will be the same people they pass on the way back down. The folks that help build Apple in the video and broadcast world such as Aurora and onthers, Apple should know they have to help them survive and help them to weather the bad times because these guys bring great skills to the table and loyal followering.

April 8, 2007 at 5:36 pm in reply to: Need expert advice on new camera purchase

At the moment the P2 technology is seem to be the best for the future it is true that these cards is very expensive at the moment, but with Panasonic and Sony are going to change over to the AVCH-Intra in a few years, I always question what do I do for shelve storage and I have come up with solution and that is to buy a DVCPro HD deck and transfere for shelf storage and take out a field deck for transfere during acquisstion. I was looking into purchasing a HDX 900 DVCProHD which uses tape and that is $30,000.00 with lens, if I pruchase a HPX500 that is $20,000.00 include lens and I could purchase some aditional cards plus a field recorder on both camera I still have to buy a deck, if I buy any of these camera, but if I buy the P2 technology I am looking into the future, I will not embrace the HDV or XDCamHD because all the majour players that make HDV and XDCamHD have sign on to the AVCH-Intra technology. And base on what I see so far that may just be the way to go.

February 19, 2007 at 2:20 pm in reply to: if it was your money which camera would you buy?

Yes the Grass Valey Infinity look good and the price 23K listed the Media holds over 60 minute for about $50 but the Panasonic HPX2100 can record at the D5 quality usining AVC-intra format.

I still say there are some of us who have a one project and istead of spending a lot of funds on buying equipment, search out someone with the tools and hire them for your project. I have seen a lot of film maker who has a good project who go out and purchase lots of equipment but not the right equipment and when time come for them to master they have all kind of timecode and audio synk problem and when they take out the project to the big house to conform to HD or Film they have to spend a lot of time and money, so Paulos there is some starving producer with some great equipment and the ability to produce, shoot or edit your documentary suss them out at the Jobs Cows or the Production Hub and hope all work out fine.
