Do I not have as many options if I just Paste insert photos into the video timeline?I really just want to show a photo, maybe zooom a bit as it pans, as the movie narration moves along ie as my parents mention something in the movie, show a pic of it then move along.

I mean would you just paste insert them into the movie time line or is there some way to over lay the film with the picture momentarily. I read something about opacity controls, can this come into play here. Which would look smoother in transition.

Thanks,
I’m using movie studio 9 plat so Im not sure if I have a honed down version of Cinescore or not, we shall see. -
Thank you Steven
I now realize that I was probably not “u” ungrouping the the sound from the video and trying to move it around.DSE’s tutorial gives a good how to on what you call “ducking”.
If I generate some narration for a piece of video how do I get it to sync in time with the video??

I rendered a project in vegas ms that was shot in 16:9 aspect ratio.
Did not set to wide screen in project template.
I want to burn a dvd that will be seen only on standard tv’s.
The vegas render has the letterboxes on top and bottom. Will this show up on tv without the boxes after I burn the disc?

Thanks Edward, I will do just that.
Do you know if I can prepare mpeg2, use fit to disc and then burn with Nero? I have purchased two new burners now and neither is supported by dvda.Would you have any idea how to rid myself of the large black horizontal blocks across the top and bottom of the dvda preview screen. Did I forget to check something off at a prior level of work?

Maybe I can just go back and edit the original avi files in vegas.Do you know what I should stay under as a total time frame?
What should I have the time code show as I put the cursor at the end of the video track and yet have it fit to disc with a bit of menu prep in dvda, less than 2 hrs? -
Rob
Yes, exactly. Thanks so much for the help!
I couldn’t edit the underlying word with these in the way.One more thing, if I may. When I preview the movie in dvda I have the large black “letter boxing” along the top, horizontally and at the bottom of the screen horizontally.
Did I forget to check a box somewhere.thanks again for the help

Yes, a menu page with chapters, 25 of them.
Really a chore to edit them all for size etc. in dvda. They are all numbered in the same color as the chapter name but there are also two white, what look to be dvda reference numbers associated with each chapter name.
I can edit the same colored one easily but not the white ones, can’t move them?
any ideas

Yes Rob, thanks
The .avi project I just finished was 2 hours long. videocalc indicated a bitrate for this at 4.9.
When I went to render as the custom button was not highlighted so I could not enter a custom bitrate.I rendered in vegas ms as mpeg2, dvda ntsc video stream. Since I could not put in a new BR I hope the thing will fit to disc after adding some menus in dvda.
Any idea why the custom button was not accessable?
anyway thanks for the help
