How large an .avi file should one render to mpeg2 in order to fit to disc.
A vasst tutorial for movie studio said to consult a bit rate calculator to input the correct rate. What it didn’t tell us is that the custom function on movie studio is not available so this in fact cannot be done.
I have a project that dvda now tells me is too big for for a disc.Is there any way to cut it down in dvda so I don’t waste all the work so far.
It was just under two hours as a .avi file. -

Give DVD Architect the AVI file and let IT compress it to MPEG2. It should automatically use an appropriate bitrate in the process.

Do you know if I can prepare mpeg2, use fit to disc and then burn with Nero? I have purchased two new burners now and neither is supported by dvda.Would you have any idea how to rid myself of the large black horizontal blocks across the top and bottom of the dvda preview screen. Did I forget to check something off at a prior level of work?

Yes you can. But you will reduce quality because then you’d be rendering to MPEG2 and then re-rendering to MPEG2 to get it smaller.

I rendered a project in vegas ms that was shot in 16:9 aspect ratio.
Did not set to wide screen in project template.
I want to burn a dvd that will be seen only on standard tv’s.
The vegas render has the letterboxes on top and bottom.Will this show up on tv without the boxes after I burn the disc?
