    WORKAROUND FOUND

Okay, so I have no idea how to fix this issue but I have found a way to work around it. I go to the folder where my project file is located and double click it as if I were opening it. This process seems to “shock” AE out of the RAM preview.

None of my layers or any of the layers in the precomps I’m using have audio.

Could it be because I’m working off a server? This project really isn’t that heavy, it’s just a few layers of footage. One layer uses Trapcode Shine, one uses Trapcode Starglow, and a few have their levels adjusted. That’s it though…

Okay, I’ve allotted 15 MB to other programs, I think that’s helping a lot! But I’m still running into the same issue, one that RAM preview gets going I can’t stop it. I’m totally locked out of AE until it’s finished 🙁

“That will force the OS to swap real RAM out to virtual RAM on your hard disk”

Could you explain that like I’m five? I sorta get it, if I don’t give my OS enough real RAM (physical memory) it will be forced to mess with my hard disk. Why is that bad?

But it’s already going slow as molasses! Won’t less RAM make it even slower?

I’ve allotted 54GB of RAM for AE.

I do not have Muliprocessing on…could that be it?

    CC Version 13.2.0.49

    Windows 7 Professional
    Processor – Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1620 0 @ 3.60GHz
    RAM – 60GB
    System Type – 64bit

I’ll admit I’m not great with the hardware aspect of computers. But I thought 60GB was a good amount of RAM for AE…

That’s what I initially tried, but the mask has to match up with the screen perfectly and it’s tough due to it’s weird shape.

I can get it super close, but there’s always a little bounce here and there. I think I’ve been using a motion track though, will a camera track work better?

Already watched it. They don’t cover blending only converting to motion clips.
