  • no real third party plug-ings used…It does use Color Finesse but the spot involves eps files, other quicktime movies (rendered out of avid), and psd’s all of which are less than 10MB each. it’s a 30 second spot.

  • looking at the task manager…all processors are quiet..ram allocation stays around the same area as well.

I did set rendering as a photoshop sequence but it took 5min 45 sec.

Quicktime (using AvidDNxHD 145) without multiprocessing took 4:24.
    which I find confusing.

Same results with other projects..both converted from CS5 and created in CC..multiprocessing off renders faster.

i am pretty disappointed to say this would be my solution for now.

actually, the audio is edited outside of after effects from another editor in pro tools. he then sends me the timecodes based on the timing of that sequence…i should’ve been more clear before..sorry.

  • i dont understand why not?

they’d make a ton of money if they release it…even more if it was a plug-in for AE…

if i owned fat black, i’d take advantage of that now..because that ‘look’ wont last long.

  • that kink is created by spatial interpolation.

he’s converting a linear motion into easy ease…which is bezier-based, space over time becomes curvy..hence the boomerang-like movement.
defaulting the spatial interpolation to linear removes that boomerang problem and keeps your easy ease moves strictly on speed.

    dante…

aahron rabinowitz has a Creative Cow AE podcast that talks about this.. i believe its named ‘AE Tips : organizing your workflow’ or something to that nature..
    check it out.

  • there’s two ways to resolve this…

    1.highlight the two keyframes…
right click and select keyframe interpolation…
change the spatial interpolation setting from auto-bezier to linear.

    2. under your preferences..go to the general settings and check mark the fourth box..
this defaults the spatial interpolation to linear…(so you dont have to do #1 all the time)

if you clip the black and whites in the screen matte section…do a screen pre-blur by half a point or third of a point..to soften any hard edges..

or add a simple choker effect at half a point…so your edges come smoother

  • you should stabilize the shot by using the stabilize motion feature inside track motion.

use the point where you want the effects to fly out as your point to stabilize…preview it from the playback button in the window, and if it looks right..apply it to the video.
you might need to do some cropping though..the image will stay still but the video file will move around, revealing black corners and such..of course it depends on how violent the shaking is..

if the pan is long..you might want to stabilize first…then create a motion track which you apply to the layer with the effect..that way your effect will stay on that exact point you want it to be at.
