    Hi all,

I’m trying to make an AE template, so when the user opens AFter EFfects, 3 folders will already be made in the Project Window (finals, media and artwork)

is there a way to do this?

    help

Don’t know of a template feature in AE, but another way to do it would be to create a project, make any number of organizational adjustments, and save as ‘job_template.ae’ or whatever.
Each new job, open this file and ‘save as’ to another location.

the Mac os (both 9 and X) have a setting called: “Stationary Pad”: it’s under the general settings when you hit Command-I or Get info in the finder.

What this does it that when you double-click this file, you won’t open the file, but an “untitled” or “_copy” version of it, so you can’t accidentally save over the original, it’s always a copy.

I’m sure Windows should have something similar hidden somewhere buried in a tab.
