It would be if the background were perfectly the same in each frame. Unfortunately, modern compression schemes are enough to make each frame appear sufficiently different that it renders the tool useless.

I agree with the others, rotoscoping in a special-effects package is the only way to go.

Actually, the changes are not ignored, they are not saved in the queue. You should revisit the settings in the AME interface and set them the way you want and then start the queue.
Alternatively you can apply the 4.0.2 update to AME.

Chances are good you have not configured PPro to tell it which tracks go to which speakers.

You need to use the Audio channel icons to Map sequence audio channels to audio device hardware channels.

Although WMA is listed as supported, it is a highly compressed format not suitable for editing. Rather convert it to WAV if you’re on the Windows platform.
