  • Is there still a tool to drag the entire project (all audio & video tracks) along the timeline?

In Premiere 6.5 there was a tool that allowed you to make a space in a project and drag all 4 video/6 audio tracks left or right but keep them all in their respective places. Did Adobe do away with that or is it somewhere else? Am I missing something?

    Thanks.

If you are using a PC, make sure the timeline is selected, the press Ctrl+A. Then drag around as needed.

Using a Mac? instead of Ctrl, press the mac equivalent (Command I believe)

See “Ripple Edit” in the Premiere Pro Help for instructions.

You will also find links to many free tutorials in the PremiereProPedia that will quickly show you how things are done in Premiere Pro.

After reading Todd’s post again more carefully, I think he was referring the the ripple edit tool. Good call.

I assumed he wanted to drag everything, but it seems like he just wanted to drag segments.

I think you’re talking about the select track tool -(Keyboard shortcut “a” as Jon pointed out.) Yes, the select track tool from 6.5 is still in CS3, but it is defaulted to just select a single track. If you hold down the shift key when using it, it will become the double arrow and select all tracks and you can move them around like 6.5.
