I’m not sure how you can confuse a 640×480 .MOV file with a 720×480 .AVI file, but things get even more strange.

720×480 is an NTSC resolution but 25 fps is a PAL frame rate.

From the information you provided I recommend you create a new project using a PAL DV preset, but change the preset options to “Desktop”, change the resolution and pixel aspect ratio to 720×480 and “0.9” respectively. Now import the clip into this project.

Unfortunately it is not possible to automatically have a clip repeat on the timeline, you have to manually add the clip to the timeline for the number of repetitions that you want.
