1,000 thank-yous, Angelo!
I wish I could delete this thread out of existence; that’s how foolish I feel. Never thought to look under edit, was always looking under “file.”

Great thread!
So if I was to shoot a documentary on the AF100 (with the hopes of it showing on PBS or some other network) how would I create a broadcast ready export from Premiere? What would they prefer as a final file?

Under the “file” menu you’ll see an option entitled “render as”. Click on that and you’ll be offered a menu of output options which correspond to the specs you listed.
For example, you can choose AVI, then manually set the AVI export options according to their preferred specs.
Make sense?

Danny – thanks for taking the time to do that. Unfortunately, I was already using those settings. The MP4 has deeper blacks, but the image has a smear to it and a bit of red that is driving me nuts.
The WMV could use a hair more contrast, but the sharpness is perfect.
It’s all making me crazy. =)

Peter – Can you upload the file you fixed so I can test it?
Thanks!

Peter:
Thank you thank you! Can I ask you to post the file that worked? I’d like to test this out now before sending an email to my designer.
Again – thanks!

Great idea. I’ll look into it tonight when I’m in front of the computer.
Thanks for all of the advice thus far – it’s greatly appreciated.

I agree with you. I’ve been editing for years and can’t make heads or tails of it. I’ll try and do a screenshot comparison when I get home tonight.
Trust me, it isn’t an issue with preview monitor quality.
Even in Premiere, for example, the preview video can be a bit soft when you’re playing through the timeline, but once you hit pause, it gets sharp on the paused frame.
That’s not happening here.
