I’m with Sean on that minor note: Apple pushing off Adobe’s AE and Premiere…a business move if you ask me.

Motion looking more like AE everytime I check it. I know I know, Motion is supposed to be complementary. (and yes, a lot of compositing tools offer similar featuresets). In fact, consideirng that the developer of combustion are the wunderkind behind Motion in particular, I’d say it’s only a matter of time before they go head to head.

How do you overcome that 50pt problem anyway? Pre-comping? I just encountered it this week.

Camtasia from Techsmith is always good. I know Adobe/MAcromedia had an app that could do it…Captivate, I think (used to be RoboDemo)? https://www.adobe.com/products/captivate/

I’ve heard of TurboDemo and !Quick as well. do a Google search for screen recording. The good

Oops1 I read the request wrong! I thought you wanted to remove the black from the lens flare. Yeah, go to RedGiant and get the Knoll Light factory. If you have the JPEG in AE, just apply the effect and render a 1-frame PNG sequence.

FYI: Photoshop used to have a plug-in called Axiom Flare Effects that used to do some wild lens flares, including some plasma-like stuff. Google it and see if you can get your hands on it for future work.

Sometimes the Blending mode Screen works to drop the black out. As Mylenium said, go to Red Giant software and download Knoll’s Unmult. It does a really splendid job.

I saw a very nice one on trapcodepeople.net a few weeks back. You’ll need Particular to do it, though.

  • Mylenium: thankyouthankyouthank! I have been looking into C4D fo r while now, but I still wanted something to do quick 3d modelling until I get up to speed with C4D as the 3d mainstay. Thanks for the tutorial, amn!!! kudos!!!

Btw, what codec do you use for the tutorials? It’s pretty sharp and has decent filesize.
